Museveni hails South African investments in Uganda

President Yoweri Museveni has hailed the government and different companies of South Africa for investing in Uganda.

The President who concluded his two day state visit to South Africa last week told journalists today that the government strongly values the South African businesses.

He says his National Resistancer Movement government  will continue providing ample security to the South Africa’s enterprises to continue the key role they play in the economy of Uganda.

South Africa has business like MTN the leading telecommunication company in Uganda, Stanbic Bank the bank that covers the most parts in the country then Shoprite, the leading supermarket chain among others.

Museveni said that the South Africa’s enterprises in Uganda have created jobs and contributed to the national treasury through taxes.

He encouraged more South Africa’s investors to come to Uganda and tap opportunities in the East Africa common market as Ugandan products now enter duty free in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.
